We are Urban Development Landscapes Group, a dynamic commercial landscape construction and maintenance company established in 2011, with headquarters based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
Our directors Gavin and Paul come from humble beginnings, having completed industry qualifications in their early years, and with a wealth of experience, they understand what it takes to achieve success in the industry from site to the office, and everything in between. They remain active members of our team, offering leadership, inspiration, and motivation to over 140 valued staff members today.

Gavin Lowe
Chief Executive Officer

- Gavin, the founder and primary shareholder of UDL Group, brings over 30 years of experience in the landscaping industry.
- He is committed to ensuring that UDL Group remains the top choice for clients, always making himself accessible to meet their landscaping needs.
- His passion for innovation fuels the company’s growth and ongoing success.
- A results-driven leader, Gavin excels at building and leading high-performing teams that consistently deliver exceptional results.

Paul Hughes
Chief Operating Officer

- With a background in sports turf and horticulture management, Paul has worked in the industry since 2001, becoming a director of UDL Group in 2012.
- Completed a Parks & Gardens Apprenticeship in 2004, with an ‘Apprentice of the Year’ award, Paul understands the industry from the ground up and has flourished in leadership positions, developing and directing teams.
- Paul leads the Workplace Health & Safety, Fleet & Assets, and People & Culture functions of UDL Group.

Tom Hussey
Chief Financial Officer

- A CPA-qualified accountant serving as CFO at UDL Group, overseeing the finance department, support functions and steering the strategic direction of the business.
- Oversees all aspects of business and statutory reporting, budgeting and forecasting, ensuring strict compliance with regulatory standards.
- Utilises data-driven insights to collaborate with management at all levels, driving informed decision-making and strong commercial performance

Matthew Hughes
Chief Information Officer

- A results-driven IT professional with expertise in project management, solutions development, and system administration.
- Matthew excels in delivering secure, reliable, and scalable technology infrastructure and business solutions.
- Leads business transformation and technology functions at a strategic level.

Benjamin Warner
General Manager

- Ben holds an Honours-Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Guelph, Canada.
- Originally from Canada, Ben joined UDL Group in 2019 and was promoted to General Manager in 2022.
- Ben oversees business development and leads the operations division, encompassing construction and maintenance, driving the continued growth and success of the organization.

Adam Gallagher
Maintenance Manager

- Results driven expertise in open space operations.
- Certificate IV Steel Fabrication with over 20 years’ experience in open space, civil, and environmental management sectors.
- Private and Government contract management.

Brenten Coulthard
Client Manager

- Over 20 years of experience in open space maintenance.
- Certificate III and an Advanced Diploma in Turf Management.
- Works with council partners to develop and manage extensive work programs and build successful teams.

Matthew Foreman
Client Manager

- Certificates II and III in Landscape Construction.
- 20 years of experience in the industry across multiple management positions.
- Excellent skillset in building high performing teams.
- Frequently receives outstanding council client feedback for
his leadership in open space maintenance management.

Dean Klomp
Construction Manager

- Masters Degree in Forest Conservation from the University of Toronto, Canada.
- Grew up in the family landscape business in Stratford, Ontario, Canada.
- Manages the operations of the constructions division, meeting with Project Managers and liaising with staff to discuss current and upcoming projects.

Adriano Scuderi
Environmental Project Manager

- Adriano has over 15 years of experience in landscape construction and conservation management, overseeing 60+ projects across Melbourne.
- An expert in wetland construction and indigenous plant identification.
- Adriano excels in managing environmental projects with multiple stakeholders to ensure efficiency and sustainability.
